What is ZUMBA®?

 

ZUMBA® is a Latin-inspired dance fitness
programme. It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin inspired,
calorie burning fitness party. It’s a workout for all ages, fitness levels and
abilities.
ZUMBA® shapes the heart, body and mind. ZUMBA® classes
feature exotic rhythms like salsa, merengue, cumbia and samba set to sexy Latin
and international beats.

What should I wear to a Zumba® class?

 

Comfortable clothing such as tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt or vest
top and a good sports bra. You'll also want to wear trainers. Dance aerobic
trainers like NIKE Air Divine or NIKE Musique or NIKE Air Kapella. This sole
has a light grip or ‘spin spot’ which will help you twist or turn. Cross
trainers or running shoes are not ideal as they are made to propel the body
forwards and backwards and have a heavy grip.

 

What should I bring to class?

 

Bring bottled water and a towel if needed, burning 300-1000
calories can be pretty sweaty and the most important thing is a sense of
humour.

 

Is it important that I know how to dance?

 

No, ZUMBA® is designed for everyone, no dance or fitness
experience necessary. People of many different ages, body types, backgrounds,
dance and fitness levels all come together to have fun and get into fabulous
shape with Zumba®.

 

I've never done ZUMBA® before?

 

It doesn’t matter it is all about having FUN. The most important
thing to remember when you are in a class, allow yourself to enjoy the class,
it doesn't matter if you get the moves wrong as long as your moving.
